Questions
My child has never played chess. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Most of our students start with zero experience. Coach JB meets every child where they are. As one parent told us: "Even as a total beginner, my child never felt lost."
What is the monthly cost?
Monthly pricing is available upon registration. The same monthly rate applies regardless of how many class dates fall in that month. Contact us at chessclubcv@gmail.com or call (831) 392-7456 for current pricing.
What if we miss a class?
Families may attend another available session during the same month if space allows. No refunds are issued for missed classes. We follow the CUSD school calendar so you'll always know in advance when we're closed.
How many kids are in each class?
Every class is capped at 8 students. This isn't just a policy — it's a commitment. Small groups mean Coach JB can work with every child individually, not just manage a room.
What is the Competitive League add-on?
The Thursday Competitive League is for students who want to develop tournament skills. It's available as an add-on to any Recreational League session and focuses on tournament prep, advanced tactics, and rated play development.
